How to Check WAEC Result 2026 Online
You can check your WAEC result online using a phone, tablet or computer with internet access.
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the official WAEC result checker
Go to the official WAEC Direct Result Checker at: waecdirect.org
Be careful when searching for the website. There are many unofficial websites publishing WAEC information, so check the address before entering your result-checking details.

Your WAEC examination number is normally 10 digits.
WAEC explains that the number consists of the seven-digit centre number followed by the three-digit candidate number.
Enter the number exactly as it appears on your examination documents.

Make sure you select the correct examination year. Choosing another year can cause problems when you try to check the result.
Step 4: Select your examination type
Choose the examination type that applies to you.
For example, a candidate who sat the school examination should select the appropriate School Candidate option.
Candidates who sat the private-candidate examination should select the appropriate private-candidate option when checking a result that has been released.
Step 5: Enter your PIN and serial number
Enter the required result-checking details in the appropriate boxes.
WAEC’s official result checker currently provides fields for the e-PIN voucher number and Personal Identification Number (PIN).
Check the numbers carefully before submitting.
Step 6: Click Submit
After entering the required information, click Submit.
If your details are correct and your result is available, the result page should appear.
You can then save the result or print a copy for your records.

What Do I Need to Check My WAEC Result?
Before starting, keep the following information available:
- Your WAEC examination number
- Examination year
- Examination type
- Result-checking PIN/e-PIN
- Serial number where required
- A phone, tablet or computer if checking online
- Internet connection if using the online checker
WAEC says its e-PIN is used to access its online result-checking service, and its FAQ states that an e-PIN can be used to check a result up to five times.
What If My WAEC Result Is Not Showing?
Do not panic immediately if your result does not appear.
There are several possible reasons.
1. You entered the wrong examination number
Check the number on your examination documents and enter it again.
WAEC says the standard examination number is 10 digits for recent examinations.
2. You selected the wrong examination year
If you are checking the 2026 result, make sure the examination year is set to 2026.
3. Your PIN or serial number is incorrect
Carefully check the PIN and serial number before submitting again.
Avoid adding spaces or changing any of the numbers.
4. Your result may still be under processing
WAEC said that some 2026 results were still being processed when the main results were released.
Therefore, a result that is not immediately available does not automatically mean that the candidate failed or that the result has been cancelled.
5. Your result may have been withheld
WAEC also reported that some candidates’ results were withheld because of examination malpractice concerns. If your result is affected, follow WAEC’s official complaint or review process.
Do not pay an individual who claims to have a way of “unholding” or changing your result.
Can I Check WAEC Result More Than Once?
Yes.
WAEC’s official FAQ says one e-PIN can be used to check a result up to five times. After the permitted number of uses has been exhausted, another result-checking card/e-PIN may be required.
This means you should keep your result-checking details safe rather than repeatedly purchasing a new PIN.
Is WAEC Result Checker Free?
The result-checking process itself requires the appropriate WAEC result-checking credentials.
WAEC’s official platform provides information about obtaining and using an e-PIN for result checking.
If someone asks you to pay them to change, upgrade, improve or release your WAEC grade, be careful.
No genuine agent should promise to alter a WAEC result.
Use official WAEC channels for result checking and complaints.
What Does A1, B2, C4, C5, C6, D7, E8 and F9 Mean?
Your WAEC result shows grades for the subjects you registered.
The grades generally range from A1 to F9, with A1 being the highest grade and F9 being the lowest.
However, when using your WAEC result for university, polytechnic, college of education or other applications, do not look at the grade alone.
The institution may have specific requirements for particular subjects.
For example, a course may require credits in English Language, Mathematics and certain science subjects.
Therefore, after checking your WAEC result, compare your grades with the admission requirements of the course you want to study.
What Should I Do After Checking My WAEC Result?
Once your result appears, save a copy for your records.
You may need your WAEC result for:
- JAMB and university admission
- Post-UTME applications
- Polytechnic admission
- College of education admission
- Scholarships
- Job applications
- Training programmes
- Other educational opportunities
Do not wait until an application deadline before looking for your result.
If you are planning to use the result for admission, check the institution’s current requirements before applying.
WAEC Result Checker for Private Candidates
If you registered for WASSCE for Private Candidates, your result-checking process is also handled through WAEC’s official result services.
However, candidates should pay attention to the examination series.
The 2026 Second Series private-candidate examination is a separate examination cycle, and WAEC’s current official news page lists its final timetable.
Therefore, candidates who are waiting for the result of the 2026 Second Series should not confuse it with the already released 2026 School Candidates’ result.
WAEC’s result checker provides an option for selecting the relevant examination year and examination type.
Official WAEC Result Checker Portal
The safest way to check your WAEC result is to use the official result-checking platform.
WAEC Direct: waecdirect.org
You can also visit the main WAEC Nigeria website for official announcements and other examination information
Masterjob.com.ng provides information and guides to help candidates understand the process, but it is not the WAEC result portal.
Beware of Fake WAEC Result Websites
This is important, especially when results are newly released.
Do not enter your WAEC examination number, PIN or other sensitive information into a website simply because it appears in Google search results.
Before entering your details:
- Check the website address carefully.
- Avoid websites promising to change grades.
- Do not give your WAEC PIN to strangers on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Do not pay anyone who promises to upgrade your result.
- Use the official WAEC result checker for checking your result.
- For complaints, use WAEC’s official channels.
A genuine result cannot be upgraded by an agent.
